We knew you’d do Second Hand September in style. But we downright LOVED your outfits. Here are 30 of our favourites – one for every day of this incredible, change-making month

You wowed in preloved Stella McCartney and Armani. Made a super-cool fashion statement in a dyed vintage nightie. Even introduced us to the wonders of original Beatrix Potter knitwear… If anyone needed proof that preloved clothing can be stylish as well as sustainable, you provided it. Throughout #SecondHandSeptember you shared look after trend-setting look, inspiring even more people to say ‘no to new’. Here are 30 of our favourites – there were SO many more. Please keep them coming – September may be over, but the positive impact of choosing second-hand never will be.

Not only did @jessicamurae share an entirely thrifted outfit, she included fab £1 jeans – a brilliant alternative to water-glugging new ones AND shared her top charity shopping spots.

There are lots of ways to say ‘no to new’ – @shinyshiny054 gave us 3-for-1, with her charity shop dress, ‘local clothes swap’ boots and decade-old jacket from her very own wardrobe 🙂

We had to include this one. Not just for the stunning #FoundInOxfam kimono – but also for Claire’s incredible hair!

This stunning blouse shared by @thestylebalance has already had three owners and counting – preloved, re-loved fashion at its best. Got something gorgeous that you barely wear? Share the love and pass it on.

Savvy swapping is yet another way you helped make #SecondHandSeptember so brilliant, with great finds like this polo neck dress shared by @betsysclosetswapshop

Actually had to put trousers on first thing but back in the shorts now, yessss! Winning at life! I wonder apart from the obligatory postie and PE teacher does anyone else actually wear shorts for most of the year in the UK?! All dressed up with somewhere to go. I was fortunate to be invited to a Exeter bloggers event hosted by Exeter @johnlewisandpartnerspr So what’s a girl wear to her first Instagram bloggers meet? The pressure of being surrounded by a bunch of exceptionally stylish women! I choose to wear a £1 thrifted vintage nightie which I dyed grey. Wearing with a vintage oversized wool blazer, oversized on account of it being a menswear. I paid £10 #hospicecareshops Style gurus @annacascarina and @styledby_mutha_clutta have posted recently on the different styling options for an oversized blazer. I think it’s going to be a wardrobe staple for Autumn. So if you are looking for sustainable or affordable version of that @arketofficial jacket, don’t be afraid of checking out the menswear in your local charity shop. My boots were bought in the spring from @egoofficial They are my go to boot for finishing off an outfit. #SecondHandSeptember @oxfamgb #secondhandfirst#secondhandnotsecondbest #choosereused @sarahwearsthis #rockingthethrift @stylemeonashoestring #chazzerqueen @hijacstyle #mycharityshopoutfit @sarahrobinslikestoshop @mrs_oakie @preloving_it #charityshoppingaddict #thriftedandstyled @addielee_hatfield @nataliamode #fashtagfriday @finlay_fox @gingermumstyle @shellandthelittlies #fashionflauntfriday @keepingitrealat40 #kimsfeelgoodfriday @thefeelgoodmum #feelingfabulousfriday @justleftmyforties_ @permanentlyinapickle #fetchingfridayfashion @fetchingfifties #fridayfashionfreestyle @being.just.jude #thriftyfashion #thriftingfinds #tentdress #buffetdress #mydress2day @bowstreetstyle #oversizedblazer #blazerglory #thriftqueen #styledsustainable

It was once a £1 vintage nightie. Then @thecannyfashionista got her hands on it and turned it into an incredible statement dress, fit for a fancy event. We like. A lot.

Hannah helped spread the word about #SecondHandSeptember and proved you can holiday without buying new too. We love her sundress, #FoundInOxfam for £3 – search the hashtag for more great finds.

What do you do when you find a fab Stella McCartney dress in Oxfam? Put it on and shrink yourself down to fairy size for the ultimate autumnal Instagram pic of course. Got to love @leapofcharly

Of course it’s not all about the outfits… @thedelightful.mrsb knows all about the power of preloved accessories. Check out this stunning necklace ‘beautiful quality and it goes with absolutely everything’ 🙂

Once you discover the wonders of second-hand fashion, you can spot preloved gems pretty much everywhere. This stylish look shared by @alterszura was sourced in Bristol and Amsterdam.

. . . . #closetedit #secondhandseptember #closettherapy #stylerehab #lessbutmore #slowlife #reload #styletips #wardrobestylist #sustainableliving #update #outfitinspiration #slowlife #slowfashion #vintageshirt #vintagebag #buysecondhand

Desperately clinging onto the last bits of sunshine! I’ve loved wearing these #preloved @boden_clothing shorts I picked up from @ebay_uk at the beginning of the summer. They fit really well and go perfectly with my #samplesale bargain from @scampanddude and my new blue nails! 🦋🐳🐬🐟 . . Still enjoying a few days away with the fam before the #twins start reception. We are taking advantage of our @nationaltrust membership today with a visit to a property called @thevyne_nt it’s really beautiful and they have a great adventure play park for the kiddos to run around in. . . Have your kiddos gone back to school yet? I can’t quite decide which emotion I should be feeling about them starting full time school. What I do know is that I’m really proud of the little people they are turning into. They have been a pleasure to spend time with this summer. 🥰 . . #schoolrunmum #prelovedfashion #alltheblues #familytime #growkngup #thriftedfashion #secondhandseptember #slowfashionseason @oxfamgb @fash_rev #summersun #lovemyfamily @sidders72

Pink and green should never be seen! Especially when you’re in fuschia pink in a green field with bulls nearby! Yep! Beyond the camera lens’ line of sight in this pic from my trip to Colonsay were grazing cattle. . In the local hotel we saw a notice advising that bulls were out in the fields grazing with the cows at this time of year. And now on reflection I’m wondering about the wisdom of traipsing through a field nearby dressed head to toe in the same shade of hot pink as a bullfighters cape!! The word foolish springs to mind. . Described as probably her ‘best ever second hand purchase’, @annabel_czyba snapped up this chic cashmere Armani jacket 15 years ago. And it looks as fabulous as ever.

It’s a jumper. With Jemima Puddleducks on. How could this not make the cut? @cyclingkirst was lucky enough to bag this original Beatrix Potter jumper in tip top condition.

Callie spotted this amazing skirt in a charity shop years ago, now teamed with a £2 second-hand jumper to create yet another covetable #SecondHandSeptember look. Search the hashtag for more.

Living my best matchy-matchy life✌🏼. • • Hee hee 😏. I’m actually trekking up a mountain today, so will be off grid for the remainder of the day! I’ll be back tomorrow with my day 7 outfit of the #basicallyunworn10x10 challenge! • For today, I’m throwing it back to another picture from our June trip to Quebec City! And a photo of one of my most worn pieces from my summer capsule… which was this thrifted silk dress. I literally lived in it on that trip – wearing it 5 of the 10 days we were there! And also wore it an average of 2 days per week all summer. It’s exhausted from all the wear lol but I’m not at all tired of it! 🙋🏼‍♀️ So, guess what? I’ll be adding it into my fall capsule!! • Happy Labor Day! Hope you have a wonderful day! • #thevillagelook #thestorybehindthelook • • [OUTFIT DETAILS:] Dress (Wilfred @aritzia) ~Thrifted White tee (@forever21) ~Thrifted Hat ~Thrifted Necklace ~Thrifted • #secondhandseptember @oxfamgb #secondhandfirstseptember @junkyardjournals

Charity shops are just brilliant for basics – and a black dress like this one can be styled up in SO many ways. Perfect for daytime with a simple white tee… and matching backdrop.

A charity shop bargain circa 2018, Kate says she loves this skirt more every time she wears it. We can see why. Find more striking florals in the Oxfam Online Shop now.

My pledge for #sewyourselfsustainable is not to buy any new clothes or fabric this month. Fabric should be easy as I already have planned this month’s project with fabric in my stash. Not buying new clothes may be a little more tricky, as after a year of very limited shopping I have a number of gaps in my wardrobe. . . However, since this challenge is is coinciding with @oxfamgb ‘s challenge #secondhandseptember , I’m going to have a look in some charity shops to see what I can find. . . I did start the year thinking I would stop buying ready to wear clothes altogether. This has not been feasible but I have managed to limit my shopping to things I wouldn’t be able to make myself/second hand items. In total I have bought: 🔹A swimming costume (pictured here with a skirt I refashioned/upcycled from an old sundress) 🔷A jacket (pictured with my Culottes.. I have virtually lived in this jacket at work over the summer so was a good purchase – if anyone has a suggestion for a similar pattern I would love to make one in black) 🔷A white cami Top with a patterned edge to go with my linen Ava skirt 🔷And two charity shop items – a dress and a top. So not a bad effort to reduce my consumerism

Upcycling was ANOTHER way you made #SecondHandSeptember rock. We love this bold print skirt, refashioned by @sewistandthecity from an old sundress. Find more great upcycling ideas here

Big hand to the Oxfam GB Yemen team, rocking their finest second hand clothes in support of our month of ‘no new’…

It’s chunky. It’s peachy. And it was #FoundInOxfam for just £7. We’re loving this super-cosy knit – thanks for sharing, @brixcollective_ Read our blog for more great autumn-winter looks
